Toshiba Canvio Plus 1TB USB 3.0 / 2.0 Portable External 2.5" Hard Drive - $99.99 at Best Buy!

Available in stores and online. Not sure how long the price is good for, but cheapest I am ever able to find these are about $120, usually more.

It's USB 3.0 even, backwards compatible with USB 2.0, and only needs a single USB cable for power / data.

I just picked one up today. Still on sale. Nice drive, slim, sleek, and compact for a 1TB 2.5". Runs great. Can't wait to try it on my next laptop with USB 3.0. Transfers should be super zippy.

The footprint of it is smaller than my WD Passport, although the Toshiba is a few mm thicker. I don't think you could find anything better for $100.

    I dunno there.

The 1.5 tb seagate goflex is 150 not on sale. Seems a way smarter purchase than this one.

It is very thick though its actually a 15 mm hd

50% more expensive for 50% more space. Seems reasonable, not a good deal though. And it's still $50 which is a good chunk of change if you don't need that much storage.

But 1TB for $100 in a 2.5" form factor with USB 3.0 is a bargain. Newegg has it for $110 though with free shipping, so if tax in your state is expensive, about same price as through Best Buy.

Do you have the WD Passport drive? I have the 1TB drive and was wondering how the USB 2.0 performance compares since I don't have USB 3.0 yet.

I don't have USB 3.0 either yet, will get it in my next laptop though. I have a 500GB WD Passport USB 2.0 drive as well.

Great. I get taxed by both.
