Yup this thing is on sale for $1119 from $1399 at my local best buy (northern CA).

I don't know if I want to buy this or wait for the Gateway FX7811 to go on sale next week for $1249. I like the specs and the screen of the Gateway but that thing too huge to be lugging around. LOL

The Local BB near my place only stocks pieces of crap.

I guess if you're only looking for a shiny laptop with a backlit keyboard it's a great place to drop a grand.

However I will check tonight for the FX7811, and maybe try to squeeze a deal out of the Manager on it.

YEP, same thing here in Annapolis, MD.......BUT is the ASUS G50Vm-X1 at 1249 a better or worse deal than 1119 for the TOSHIBA?? I'm REALLY confused but am leaning towards the ASUS as I am really looking for a desktop replacement with excellent graphics.

    I'd welcome any help!

If your looking for a desktop replacement, then the gateway 7811 fx will probably be a much better buy. Its got the best screen and best graphic card of all of those you mention. Its big, but as a desktop replacement it shouldn't be a problem.

I actually got a Gateway m-6862 a few days ago. I was aiming for the gateway 7811 but I found the 6862 for under $500 bucks. It was just too good a deal to pass up.
