    That's 1.66 C2D, not even 1.8

Is it? My mistake...... difference between 1.66 and 2.0 C2D wont make THAT much of a difference in a game like Bioshock or Crysis would it? Considering the laptop has the 8700 and not the 8600

Well, you WILL be able to tell the difference. It will make a difference, but not as much as if you had an 8400 or lower.

The Toshiba X205 is a sweet machine, definitely one of my favorite 17". You can't go wrong for the price.

The processor speed should not be a problem for games. In multi-CPU games like Unreal Tournament 3, the use of two cores will compensate for the relative lack of clockspeed.

This is a very good machine at an awesome price, I have been tracking it since late September, since I'm getting one for my girlfriend, and soemthign with these specs is usually around $2k. For the next 3 years, we are only goign to be playing WoW (World of Warcraft) and its coming expansion, and possibly Starcraft 2 when it comes out, so I believe this laptop will well last us at least 3 years. What do you thnk will be the experience in WoW with the 7483?

The video card is one of the top 2 mobile cards out there atm, yes the processor is a little slower than the 9349 version ( $1499 @ Newegg) (1.66 vs 1.8 clock), and the fsb is 667 vs. 800, aside from that there's HD-DVD on the 9349, while theres none on this (but honestly who uses their laptop as a dvd player?). I believe everything else is the same (disregard that it says the 8700m gt is ddr2, that's been proven wrong all 8700m GTs use ddr3).

The only thing holding me back is the fact that Holiday season is coming, and I'm running low on money.
-This sale ($150 off), are you sure this will only be this week?
-Do you guys see us getting this price or better further in the future say Thanksgiving next week or close to Christmas?

    thx lads

You could always watch and see what Bestbuy does with it on Black Friday if your willing to brave the crowds.

As do I. Every now and then on the weekend Bestbuy puts the whole darn store on sale. I'd still keep watching the black Friday Ads. Also occationally Bestbuy does the thing where they'll put only the Toshiba's on sale. Maybe that will hit the fan before Christmas. I would think Toshiba themselves would be getting into the holiday spirit before long and cutting there own prices. Dell is already gearing up it looks like with the 500 off coupons.

Yeah I saw that! I mean $500 off, wow!

But the Toshiba's price is so low already for all its got that i dont know how much lower it can go, I'll keep a lookout though, In the meantime I'll save some more money.
They have to do somethign for the Holidays! :)
