I have an Panasonic HS9 - 60GB HDD, and it`s maximum bitrate is 17.000 mbps if you divide this by 8 to give you bytes, you get 2125 kbps or 2.1 megabytes per second.

A class 4 SDHC card guarantees a minimum write speed of 4 megabytes per second, So i should be fine.

I have an Kingston 4GB class 4 on order, as i have an 60GB HDD, I dont need a large memory card.

I have my HS9 running on an SANDISK Wii 2GB SD and it`s not even SDHC and it appears to works fine on HG, I have not tried HA

I am not the best at maths, but i think the above is correct!

    Thanks for the Warning anyway.

EDIT : I just my SANDISK Wii 2GB SD on HA mode and it works fine, how is this possible!

I got the KINGSTON 4GB SDHC class 4 card, and i have been playing back the movies through my PS3 as it plays AVCHD files in full HD.

Yeah, browsing around, the general concensus is that class4 does seem to be sufficient. When I bought my Camera, and I looked around, I got the impression that Class4 was not fast enough, and went for the 6 anyway, because they're cheap enough @ Scan. I never bothered with looking at the figures, but when you do, it's quite obvious that C4 should be fine. Anyway, How do you find your AVCHD plays back on your laptop ?

P.S. Thanks for the link, but I think I'm quite familiar with SI units of data transfer.

I use my desktop 99% of the time, spec in signature, my laptop has a low powered integrated VIA rubbish.

But my desktop plays the AVCHD files fine, but they look the best though my PS3, I have not bought an mini hdmi convertor to plug my HS9 into my TV yet.

I just bought an UV filter and lens cap to protect my lens on my HS9, under £15.00 from 7dayshop.com delivered.
