I'm not interested in purchasing as I already have enough SSDs, but... any info on this company Renice? Good/bad? Anyone here who owns their SSD?

I've tested quite a few of their products finding them to be of a high standard of quality, with associated excellent reliability. Can read over my draft review of their 1.8" 60GB Renice X3 product where can see it uses the SF1222 controller and Intel MLC flash. Renice X3 (SF1200) 1.8"/msata SSD User Review. The 240GB product will be faster.

Darn fine deal. I'll think about it. But just blew pretty much my whole year computer allowance on my new laptop.

If I put the Renice into my MSI, the Intel can go to the Dellienware, and the Momentus XT can...

Dammit, look what you've gone and done.

Is this the old sandforce or the newer one that just came out that is supposed to be a lot better, meh guess it does not matter to me I can buy in right now even if I wanted too.

I would be more than happy to organize the buy in event though if I was.

You mean "can't", right? Silly Viking.

I remember there was an OCZ drive that used the same controller for a low price on Newegg. I think it was 160GB for $370. Not nearly as good--by far--as this deal, but then again I wouldn't have had to find nine others.

But at the time I also wondered how well the controller would do.

Hm. I paid about $370 for my 240 GB Vertex 2 at the beginning of December, after $30 MIR and $40 promotional discount... but not counting the $100 gift card promotion that Newegg was running at the time.

Is anyone getting in on this? If there's nine people in the wings, I might consider it.

Hi: I'm certainly in if possible.
My sisters in Vegas this week, but couldn't buy any SSD from Frys in Vegas as they were out of stock on the 240 gb sandforce drives :(

So can't we gather 10 people? By the way is it only limited to 10 buys or at least 10?

Still need someone to ship it to Denmark so hopefully a kind soul would help me. Otherwise I can arrange something with a family member living in US. But would rather not bother him if someone in here could help me.

Oh can see it MOQ 10 drives. So it can be over 10 orders. Fine with me as everyone can join in.

I got an email reply to my query. Looks like the Renice staff are back online after Chinese new year.

So, a 240GB Sandforce SSD for around $325, and I only have to run some tests on it?

Hmm. Last time I used a Sandforce drive--and OCZ Vertex--my laptop didn't like it. But for $325...

Hmm, I just bought a Samsung 470 series 256 gb SSD for $340 shipped as this didn't seem to go anywhere.

But it is still a good price for the Renice drive. And they could ship it directly to Denmark. Might consider it.
But what's the deal about a review? Should it be sent to them and what should the content be? Like a real review or just some test data/benchmarking?

I'll do a super review if I can get one for free :D

Price is not bad (though paypal fee will suck) but I just know they (ssds) will be getting better & cheaper at an accelerated rate, so I have no desire to bounce on this just because it seems a good deal.

If I needed a SSD that would be a different story I suppose.
