    ubid.com has by far the best deals on laptops if u don't mind refurb and patience for bidding. i got the laptop in my signature for a mere $750 in September 2006, and that was when it was the latest high-end notebook from HP, as the dv9000 hadn't come out yet. however, there are rarely any high-end gaming laptops on ubid. best i've seen was a toshiba satellite with a 7900gs.

    I been checking them out lately. since they don't have as many people as ebay you can find some great deals

    Ubid always has dv9000's and dv6000's available so anyone who wants one of those should definitely check it out. Here's a decent one i found. They also have exceptionally good desktop prices. Especially check out the HP media center desktops which have built in TV tuners, dedicated graphics, and dual core processors for under $500.
