    The reason i hadn't picked the n8 was because of the current horrible OS. However, with the recent news on Nokia updating the OS on the N8, to a much easier interface, i may give the n8 a try.

    here, a must see article Nokia announces Symbian 'Anna' update for N8, E7, C7 and C6-01; first of a series of updates (video) -- Engadget

    The n8 is in overall one of the sexiest and unique shaped phones out there, PLUS THE 12MP CAMERA :) :) :). But the software just SIMPLY SUCKS. I was even suprized of nokia when they released the E7 with the same OS as the N8(i was like, they just don't get it!!!) But with this announcement the Nokia N8 may emerge from the shadows.
