I was just browsing through bestbuy's website, when i happened to come buy a Compal HEL80, Velocity Micro's, to be precise. On the title was Velocity Micro - NoteMagix T7200 Notebook, for only $1299    .

This rig is totally teched out!! T7200, 100gb 7,200 rpm HDD, 7600GS w/ 256mb, WSXGA (Matte), 2GB RAM. Only set back is the 1 year warranty, but you can always purchase a best buy warranty extended for cheap...

Here is the link to what i saw: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...aptop&lp=7&type=product&cp=1&id=1157068456315

This is defiantly worth grabbing immediately when its back in stock! :( Too bad it has to be out of stock... o well.

I'm pretty sure this went on clearance and Best Buy will not be stocking it anymore. It used to be more than $2000. But that is a great deal.

So I gave in and bought one of these laptops today. I actually work at Best Buy and was checking it out, and there's still actually some left. I ordered one from Roseville, MN. If you go into a Best Buy store, most will be able to find a location around you that has one in stock and get it shipped to their store. I think there were still about 15 available in Minneapolis alone, if anybody's still interested. Now I just have to wait for it to be shipped... :(

I called the same store and they do have them in stock. However, they made me go to a store near where I live and have the manager call and do a store transfer.

Yes it is possible to have one of these shipped to another state, as long as the store is relatively close. You just have to go into a store and ask them to get one UPS'd from another closeby store. And it probably depends on the manager, too.

I tried this with two managers at my closest store with no luck. There are none in my local area...

Hi, can someone confirm if this notebook has a glossy or matte screen. I believe the resolution is a WSXGA+. would that dictate whether the screen is matte or glossy. Thx for helping

I picked up my Velocity Micro Compal Hel8o that was transferred from Minn. a week ago and am a little disappointed with it's performance. The second day I owned it there were two random shut-downs. Then four days later there were two more random shut-downs. Then last night Windows would not shut down. Eventually, I had to remove the battery to get it to shut-down. Afterwards I powered it back up and did a shut-down again and it worked correctly.

I'm contacting the vendor this morning.

I had a problem with mine too. When I got it, the colors on the screen were really messed up. After attempting to fix it for a while, thinking it might be a driver issue, I called up Velocity Micro and they said something was probably damaged in shipping, being as it was shipped multiple times. So they paid for UPS second day air both ways and they're shipping me a new one. But the customer service was great, though. Didn't have to wait long at all, and the issue was taken care of promptly. You shouldn't have trouble getting whatever you need fixed.
