That's a pretty good deal.
Processor is a little slow, but nice amount of ram, big hard drive and a dedicated gpu for $650 is smokin'. -
The deal in the link is correct but I can't find it when I search from their website. If I try buy this would they add something extra on if this is a mistake. Thats a dam good deal
-
It's a deal they don't show on there site, and can on;y be found by searching Google for dell deals. (I think)
-
Great deal. I bought one about a month ago, but it didn't have the good grahics card. Typical. The moment you buy something, a month later something better becomes available.
KLA -
thanks a lot!!!! i bought it
-
Doesn't get any better than this I'm getting this.
-
Good deal, but a weak sauce CPU.
Same specs and price as my Vostro, but I just got 1GB of RAM and a 1.6Ghz CPU.
-
add a $100 and you get a 8600M GT. Gaming laptop for $750
-
The CPU is a real shame.
-
Would it make much sense to go from 1.4 to 1.6. Wish this only had one gig and 1.6 cpu with 8600gt
-
I'd say it would make a difference. The 1,4GHz is fairly weak.
-
depends on your use.
-
Yes, thank you!!!!! I am buying this today thank you much!
-
What would be the difference if it were upgraded to 1.6 instead of 1.4...im not really sure what that number stands for. Would the laptop be faster...and is that worth it to upgrade if im just using the laptop daily for internet/music but nothing big like gaming.
-
It's 1,4 and 1,6GHz. For normal usage, the difference will be small. You might notice it, but it will still be fast.

will the 8400m gs even run modern games? or is it like THIS CLOSE to being integrated graphics-power wise? lol
-
It will run them, at medium-low settings. It Is heavily oc-able, and can reach the raw power of x700, but with more features.
-
It looks like it rated pretty high here. Only good for light gaming
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVidia-GeForce-8400M-GS.3709.0.html -
Notebookcheck is an aweful source for perfomance ranking. At stock clocks it's weaker than a x700. It is for light gaming, or for gaming at lower settings and resolutions.
-
are there any additional coupons i can add to it? my config still hits around $1010
-
Coupons wont stack with the instant savings.
-
thats a pretty good deal. i got the deal on 1.6 ghz, 160gb hd, but 1 gb ram for this price...i guess its pretty much the same value just a different config.
-
My 8400GS overclocked way past stock speeds of the X1600. And past stock speeds of the 7700 in 3dmark05 at least. Games that require a lot of video memory will not run as well on the 8400GS as the X1600 or 7700 however. FEAR runs very well on my overclocked 8400GS on medium settings.
-
Do you guys really think the price for vostros laptops will get any better. They seem to be lowering the configs now. The reason I ask is my boss keep telling me I should wait because they is have better deals. But I don't see how prices could get any lower compared to what you'll pay for a different brand.
(he hasn't seen this deal yet) -
You wait another couple of months you might save $50. Big deal. If you want a notebook now, then just get it. You can't loose much with this type of deal!

That's a great deal for sure, but I can't imagine using a 1.4GHz CPU in this day and age. I know everyone always says that processor clockspeed is generally irrelevant in this day and age but the line has to be drawn somewhere.
-
I agree there. I actually draw mine at 1,6GHz...
-
Decided on this config
Total should be $747.93 with tax
Hopefully its still available when I order on Monday.

I think it can't possibly get any cheaper than this. Get it before the 1.4 is replaced by a celeron. -
