    For backup, who cares. You're not using it as your system drive. It's just for occasional backups or large file storage.

    Same here. System PC --> WHS --> External Backup --> Cloud Storage (most important docs). Not to mention I probaby have most important backups between a couple USB HDD's I've got.

    I thought the same way, before I had to use it. Good thing it was my sisters' and I just had to temporarily use it for my SSD setup. I'm happy of my other archival system, a vantec dock and several Samsung 1Tb Spinpoint F1's.

    It can't be that slow can it? I've got a Windows Home Server (currently undergoing surgery) and over gigabit ethernet to 4x2TB Caviar Green drives it's plenty quick, and I can't imagine this thing is any slower than a Caviar Green (it probably is same drive), and 480mbps over USB should be plenty fast at realistic throughput of 40MB/s (continuous).
