Western Digital's My Book Studio is the latest evolution in their long history of back up devices. This 750GB drive has a quad interface for maximum connectivity. The USB 2.0 and FireWire interfaces allow you to connect to virtually any modern Mac. FireWire 800 bumps the speed up a notch. If you need maximum data transfer rates then you can attach the drive to your system through the eSATA interface. The HFS+ Journaled formatting makes this a great choice for a studio or other creative environment.

A capacity gauge on the front panel lets you know how much room you have left on the drive when it is connected to either a USB or FireWire port. The rest of the housing is designed to vent heat away from the drive to keep it cool and save your data. The auto standby mode will save your power bill by kicking in after 10 minutes of inactivity but will be ready to spring back into action immediately.

    Interface: USB 2.0 / IEEE 1394a / IEEE 1394b / eSATA
    Capacity: 750GB
    Form Factor: 3.5"

Good deal. It has eSATA. Sure you could get a USB only external drive for a little bit less, or a larger drive for the same price, but the eSATA is worth the extra money.

Yes, with the eSATA it's a pretty good deal! I'm a huge fan of WD..
They need to make eSata a norm' in all external HD's. :D

The usb only models are also ide drives which is part of the lower cost and lack of eSATA. The eSATA models use SATA drives, biggest reason for the price difference as eSATA alone is easy to build.

Note that on eSATA none of the special features can work, such as the capacity guage.

This is a phenomenal deal not because of eSATA but rather because of FW800. 1394b drives and enclosures are ridiculously expensive. Thanks for sharing this. I was about to pick up a 1TB Mybook Studo for 170, but this is a far better deal. Just as note for others, if you are looking for a smaller capacity, the same drive in a 320GB flavor is available for 69.99 shipped.
