    Frys.com has this Western Digital 1TB My Book Essential external on sale for 99.99 with free shipping. The site states that it is only limited to supplies on hand, and NOT for store pickup. I, however, was able to get this deal for store pickup at my local Manhattan Beach store and am just awaiting the confirmation email that it is available.

    Even though I have a pretty good number of externals right now, I am in the process of backing up my collection of movies so, obviously, I need the space. This is a pretty decent deal. The same drive was "on sale" at BB for 119.99 last week.

    I ended up power napping last night (long day at work), so didn't go to Frys to pick it up, but I did get the confirmation email and it IS waiting for me.

    So, obviously, the site is wrong. You CAN pick up from the store and get this deal. Now the site says it is only available today 2/14. I guess the demand ran pretty high because when I ordered it said the deal was good 2/13 through 2/19.

    Go for it, Colton. Definitely a pretty decent deal!

    But your 500gb is PORTABLE and you will be able to take all your stuff on the road with you! I have about a dozen portables...ranging from 320gb to 500gb, and I LOVE taking my movies on the road. Now that they are all archived, as well, at home on the 1TB and 500gb at home drives, I can rest relatively easily if something happens to one of the portables.

    So, now, at home, I have:

    Computer #1
    3 1TB Cavalry drives (considering a 4th for expansion with the 99.99 deal from Newgg.com)

    Computer #2
    3 1TB WD drives
    2 500GB WD drives

    Good question...Don't know. Maybe somebody else can shed some light on it.

    I like the Cavalry drives because they have an on/off switch also. They also seem to be good quality at a low price.

    I went by Fry's again today and these things literally flew off the shelves. There were tons of them yesterday, and they were down to two on display today.

    Check out the Staples deal for the WD 1TB if you couldn't get in on the Fry's deal.
