That is a great deal! I bought one yesterday for almost $220/- from a store here in Kuwait, I thought that I was robbing the shop blind.

But this is 2.5"... not your regular 3.5" external drive.

Is it bad that it's a 2.5? Also, if I buy one of these and access them around once or twice a week, would it last for at least 5 years?

Is it possible to open up the case and install it in a laptop?
If anyone has done this, is the drive SATA or IDE format?
    4200/5400/7200 rpm?
It would be a great and cheap way to upgrade my laptops hard drive and still have a case to put my old drive in.

It should be a 5400 RPM. And yes, it's possible to open it up and install it in a laptop.

It is neither bad nor good - depends on what the user wants. However, 2.5" HDDs are way more expensive than 3.5".
