Western Digital WD Elements 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive WDBAAU0010HBK-NESN - Amazon $72.99 w/free shipping for Amazon Prime members

Amazon.com: Western Digital WD Elements 1 TB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive WDBAAU0010HBK-NESN: Computer & Accessories

Excellent price for this portable 1TB USB-powered external hard drive. This HD usually sells for $100-$110; this is by far the lowest price I have seen for it--and it doesn't require a coupon. Amazon also sells its 500GB stablemate for only $12 less. The free shipping requires Amazon Prime membership, which provides free 2-day shipping with most Amazon products (they are marked as Amazon Prime). Although membership is not inexpensive ($79/year currently), non-members who have not had previous Prime membership and former members whose Prime membership has lapesed for at least 13 months can obtain a free trial membership without obligation; I don't recall the duration of trial membership, but I know it is at least 2 weeks and I recall trial Prime membership has been as long as 4 weeks at times.

Please excuse me, I erred in posting this "deal". I erroneously thought this was the portable 1 TB Western Digital Elements external hard drive, but I discovered today it is actually the bulky desktop WD Elements that requires AC power in addition to the USB connection to the PC. This price is certainly not a bargain. Amazon currently sells the 2 TB version of this external HD for $109.99, which is a much better deal than this.

    I apologize for the error.
