Dell has been saying that they are working to phase out coupons, etc. and instead focus more on having lower regular prices, generally speaking. It's entirely possible they may not really do a whole lot more of those kinds of $750 off coupons, but rather just set a standard lower baseline price for their computers and perhaps offer more 20% instant savings and that kind of thing.

That's right. Dell is trying to be like Wal-Mart : "Low Prices Every Day", instead of a Winn-Dixie or Meijer's "Low-High, Get-It-If-You-Have-A-Coupon" type of strategy...

Dell has offered "20% off $999 or more" coupons for Inspiron notebooks for three weeks in a row ( expect to see another 20% off $999 or more coupon on Thursday). I would also go to the Dell Small Business website and spec out the same system there to see if you get a better price with the specials they are running. Any individual can buy from Dell Small Business, you don't need a DBA or anything like that. ;)

    Hi shivy,

No, I'm sorry for the confusion. I should have been more careful when I wrote that post earlier. What I should have said is "Expect to see another 20% off $999 or more coupon on Thursday" (I updated my post so nobody else gets the wrong idea)

My expectation is that we will be seeing only the 20% coupon for Inspirons for at least another 9 - 10 weeks (until the end of the fiscal quarter). If past experience is any indicator, then it is very unlikely they will change course before then.

Thursday morning is when the new Dell Home coupons come out (6am EST). Thursday is also when Dell Small Business changes their special offers (usually around 9-10am EST).

i have been trying the 20% off for 999+ coupon today but i have been getting this message::

    COUPON ERROR

We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has previously been redeemed.

does that mean all the 400 uses have been accounted for?? or does it mean wait till tomorrow for the next coupon??

It means both. It expired ahead of time because it's been used 4000 times (probably a rush of new orders this week when C2D came out). So hopefully they'll release a new coupon tomorrow.

for people having trouble with the coupon, try ordering a system thru dell.com/epp , theres a good deal on an e1705 there, all the way on the right hand side. 20% off + 12% +$50 rebate + another $50 rebate if you call the order in and ask to pay using your DPA account. Best of luck!
