These things were really hard to find for a while. I know some members of the forum were trying to track down the usb adapter for there already owned 360 controllers and you cant find one anywhere for less than like $30.00
So here is a chance to get the USB Wireless Reciever that lets you use up to 4 controllers on your computer, and a brand new wireless Xbox 360 controller for $37.00
Both of these are of course official licensed products not the cheap knock offs littering ebay.
Newegg had it firist

I just checked link and Amazon still showing 36.99 for me... Newegg still $43.99 w/ 7 code that you must put in at check out.
Try to clear your cookies or something not sure why your seeing that price. -
Showing $36.99 now. Weird. Oh well, actually a great price though. But I hunted for my controller since I didn't want to buy this if I could find it and I found it. So $37 saved (or cost avoidance as I like to put it). Mine is white, although I prefer black, but I'm not prejudiced so I'll keep what I've got.

I had bought one of these before and its white, but my wireless adapter broke. So now I have 2 wireless controllers and a new adapter.
I have 1 wired controller that I use as a fallback but I let a friend barrow it for a long time and it came back with a sticking button so I dont like using it as much.
I recommend getting some eneloops to toss in these so they hold a charge for a long time when not in use and just cycle out a 2nd set of batteries when they finally do die. I had a cheap china charger that replaced normal batteries with its own little battery that could charge via usb but it was not really worth it in the end.
Definitely the best way to go if your in a situation to play multi player on PC via controller. -
Yeah I only use my MS Controller for a few games, and haven't touched it for a while (obviously). With kids I always have AA's sitting around, so just grab a couple even if used, for a few hours of gameplay if needed. I used it for HAWX, would like for HAWX 2 but just don't want to buy with the stupid internet always connected DRM.
Speaking of which, we need to hook up online Vicious, been a while. Maybe some SkyDrift or something casual? -

Yeah it has been a super long while
SkyDrift would work, we had a game a few weeks ago with deagle, and star forge, was pretty fun w/ multi players and not playing alone.
Im down for worms too despite its horrible net code, that game will always have a place for me, and its slow paced enough that I can drink beer while playing
Id also try to drag you into SC2 since I am just now starting to get the urge to play again but I may have a hard time getting you into that one.
Check a game called renegade ops, we got a 4 pack for like $10, that is something fresh that I think is a lot of fun, and also ideal for controller play so you can kick back. -
Anything would work for me! Worms is a good game so you can drink and relax. I did pick up Renegade Ops for like $1.50 or something stupid cheap like that from Amazon, but haven't played yet.

Always worked plug & play for me on Win 7 64bit

Since the controller does not turn off until many minutes of inactivity (seems like a long time) and there is no other way to turn it off except removing the battery, I found this utility: http://www.x-toolz.com/Downloads/X-360ControllerUtil/
Simple app that turns off your controller by pressing LT, RT, Start, Back Simultaneously, then pops up a window to press A to confirm. Not the best solution, but come on Microsoft, you couldn't do better than that? -
