    $135 is a nice price for a 360,

30 day warranty is little scary though

    Meh.

My advice is that if you really want an Xbox 360, it's very well worth it to go out of your way to get a Jasper chipset and save yourself from the possibility of an RROD.

I just want to play some of the games, like the final fantasy games. Maybe also use it as a media extender.

Im not going to pick up this deal too many other things on my list of wants with higher priority, but for $135 thats way cheap.

You can get an extended 2 year warranty with it for 30 bucks...That is not back for $165.00 :)

if it keeps dying, it is. at least, if you're a gamer.

I love me some 360's, but the way the refurbs die is a cryin' shame.

$135 bucks is a tempting price but I agree with all of the refurb comments so far.

Also, I like never having to buy xbox live cards or replace batteries in my controllers. I'll just stick to the ps3.

RROD is easy to fix on your own if you dont mind some soldering :D

So I guess for me that is not a concern. I think I would prefer a PS3 also if I was to choose as I think it will have more of the games I want.

I already have a PC and a Wii though, just tempting to play the Final Fantasy games only on the PS3/Xbox 360

I've heard horror stories with RRODs and although I'm sure it's fixable most of the time, is the price for that possible inconvenience worth it?

ive bought a refurbished 360 that only comes with 30 day warranty.. I have had it for almost a year never had the rrod and mine had a falcon chip. its the pro addition. I dont play it much thought maybe 2 hours tops every other day since i more of a competitive css player anyway! its good just waiting for the pricedrop on the ps3 to get me a blueray! The only thing im about to do once i find how to get xbox360 iso images is make my xbox played copied games so i dont have to pay for games no more! easy to install if your a computer person and like to take things apart! When taking it apart i also put new thermal compound mx-2 on the gpu and cpu. just in case

If you're patient, you can do better on eBay.

    No.

I bought a Falcon model for 75 bucks on eBay. A week later, RROD. Did the whole google thing and bought some parts, new fan and thermal paste. A couple of days later, RROD again. Sure, with a bit more patience I could have fixed it. But having already spent over $50, time and aggravation, it simply wasn't worth it. It was a classic case of penny wise and pound foolish.

I ended up buying a Jasper model from BB for $199 +tax. And so far, no problems. IMO, the latter chioice was the better investment since my daughter also uses it to watch Sesame Street, and it has become our media center in the house.
