any observations, good or bad about the condition: cosmetically or reliability-wise?

Also, does anybody have an idea where they get them from?

Have bought three systems from the outlet. (One new, and two refurbished). New one was of course new. Of the two refurbished both were in excellent condition. One had a small cosmetic hump on the upper left side of the casing. Didnt affect performance of laptop at all.

I bought a Lenovo edge scratch and dent from the outlet once and just had a couple of light scratches on the lid. Other than that it was like new,

It depends on the day you are looking. Sometimes they are much cheaper and sometimes not. You pretty much have to look everyday. One day last week they had a lot of good deals on Lenovo outlet's website, but a few hours later they were gone. It also depends on the model you are looking for. Generally scratch and dent units are a crapshoot, I just got lucky on that particular one. Probably would be best to stick to refurb models from the outlet.

I had a great experience with my X200 tablet. I THINK it was scratch and dent and came with a year of support/warranty and the thinkpad support was much better than HP's $hitty support.

Like drifter said, look often and very often, what may seem like a LESSER configuration might cost more. Sometimes they have 10 pages of one model. Take your time and look through and make sure you now the differences which sometimes might just be the OS or the HD speed.

    Good luck

I do all the time with no issues.

Most of the time, they look New and not used at all.
