anywhere.. looking for one for a 6 year old but they want a new or factory refurbished system and not with garbage specs either. they want it to be able to play movies and kiddie games on so a netbook / atom is not prob what they want..

just curious if someone sees something can you let me know thanks

I think you've probably already considered this, but maybe something from the Dell Outlet? A Mini 12 probably isn't what you are looking for, but maybe something like a Inspiron 13? I think I saw a few for less than $500 plus the 15% off coupon out right now.

EDIT: Maybe a Vostro 1310 from the Outlet also. Starting at a little over $400 with a C2D.

hmm ill check the vostro out i had forgot about those..

edit know of any great coupons for the 1310? id love to get them the newer 4500 graphics over the old 3100... but none of those in the outlet yet..

also considering the clevo m72t since i can get them really cheap as barebones and build it.. but what sucks about those is the 4 cell battery only give under 1 hour of use out of it. and the 8 cell is like 125$ extra and only has about 2 hours or just under of life.. that imo is aweful. but its a nice 12" system...

It's unfortunate that the cheaper U330s got picked up. They were going for 500+, which is pretty impressive for the specs. P7350+ ATI 3450.

    I don't think so,

I remember the deal showed up in SD at that moment, the least price is 580+ , and it comes with ddr2 model, with x4500.

only most expensive one comes with ddr3 and 3450.

I was in the first page of that deal :D :D

Do it. They're supposed to be quite decent. :D And price/performance is very respectable too.

The Dell Latitude E4200 is a very nice ultra-portable, but the Lenovo IdeaPad U330 (and the ThinkPad X200) are much more powerful. The E4200 is only available with the 1.2GHz SU9300 or 1.4GHz SU9400 processor AND the Intel 4500MHD intregrated graphics. The U330 is the way to go if you want a dedicated graphics card.

I'd prefer the Latitude E4300 (13.3") over the E4200 any day! The E4300 has the much faster 2.26GHz SP9300 or 2.4GHz SP9400 processors. It also has a 13.3" WXGA LED-backlit display and only weighs about 1lb more than the E4200 (well under 4lbs). They're also cheaper and more plentiful in the Dell Outlet.

The Lenovo Outlet has the ThinkPad SL300 (NEW) starting at $550- LINK

The new Dell Vostro 1320 is worth a look, too- LINK

yeah i grabbed a couple of the clevo m72r models. for under 400$ i got the following:
    m72r barebones
    4gb ram
    250gb hdd
    intel 5300
    t7250 cpu
    dvd burner
    bluetooth
    webcam
    12.1" screen
intel x3100 (not great but still will do anything it needs to in these)
    4cell battery

    then i ordered 2 additional 8 cell's for 90$ each

so 490 shipped for each of them..980 TOTAL for the pair with the extra batteries!!

965 chipsets in these but whatever for that price.

I was also on the market for a 12" system and was about to pull the trigger on a Lenovo x200 until I went to a store that had it displayed and I saw its screen!!! Terrible screen with no backlight. And the build didn't seem all either. I settled on a e4200. I'm glad I did.

If you're keen on a x200, go for the x200s, more expensive, but better in every way, save for the ULV processor.

Where did you get those barebones if you don't mind me asking?

Under $400 is a great price.
