so when are we gonna get another deal like the gateway 6862 from best buy? i found that for my roommate, and he used the $100 off high speed internet coupon to get that thing for $350 plus tax.

i have a macbook pro, and i don't really like it too much, but apple is replacing it with a brand new one because of all my problems. i'm planning to sell it and get $2200 or more (brand new in box, $2000 MSRP plus ~$200 for 2 years of applecare, extra charger). after this ridiculous experience i will be glad to get rid of it. plus i'm SO tired of OS X.

then i want to get the cheapest, but nicest, laptop possible. when is dell coming out with their studio/xps 15? i'm under the impression that the new 15 supposedly out in november sometime will utilize centrino 2/montevina, and offer nvidia 9000 series graphics. if that can be had for under $1500, i want it.

otherwise, where is this month's 6862? or do i have to wait until black friday? :(

How good your discount is depends on your school and the type of relationship the school has with Dell, or Apple, or whatever company is in question.

I know for me I could get a laptop cheaper if I got directly thru Dell as opposed to going through our school's program.
