Hi, I live in Belgium, Europe... And after A LOT of research I came to the conclusion that it sucks to live in Europe if you want a notebook. A lot of notebook brands aren't available to the European market, also if it is available we can't customize it or the USA model isn't available at all.
In either ways, we can almost never have good deals on laptops :s

    So far I have found:
    Acer Aspire 7730 for €1000
    -Intel Core 2 Duo P7350
    -Nvidia Geforce 9600GT GDDR3
    -17inch 1440 x 900 pixels

This one is available in Europe though, but it's the only one I could find.

I looked for something similar and found the Toshiba F55-Q502 which offers even better price/performance! But surprise surprise, not available here. Not even something close to it! A price ticket of $1400, this is just sick! I mean, how were they possible to fit this sick GPU in it and maintain a low price! Which gamer on a budget wouldn't want this!
    -Intel Core 2 Duo P7350
    -Nvidia Geforce 7900GTS
    -17inch 1440x900 pixels

This is SO frustrating, we have such a hard time finding a good laptop for a reasonable price, seeing those deals in the USA makes it even harder to accept the prices around here for the not-so-good-notebooks.
Gateway 7811FX, clevo/sager resellers, ... and so on, the USA has it all :p

    My questions:
    1) Are there any other good deals like that Acer and Toshiba? Seems like the P7350 is THE processor to fit a budget laptop, but it still performs because of the 1066mhz FSB. I'd like to take that acer as a starting point, which notebook is better for a reasonable price tag, obviously I'm looking for a gaming notebook in case you didn't catch this throughout this post.
    2) If there isn't such thing atm, how about in the future? Any new models coming up?

    Happy searching I guess :)
And thank you, truly.. for helping me, I need it! :p

Most powerful clevos, alienware, Dell are in Europe too.

The point is: there is a slow changing with the platforms, since big sellers want first sell their old stuff before making the new available.

Thanks for reading my post xD
    Yup I did check it out :( 9800 something isn't it? :p
Quite some deal I'd have to say!

Alienware is bad price/quality imo, is it not? Dell carries the old 8 series which I'm not too fond of, heating problems or something. And the clevos... well I spent some time customizing on different websites, but none seem to carry those high end ones.
Price check on this one perhaps (M860TU in the list)? They don't name the price of it somehow...

Other options, though about €500 more are the Asus G71V and the Toshiba Qosmio G50...
Edit: just found out there's a Toshiba X300 configured like that other toshiba, for like $1500... We only have the €3000 version, again.. letdown... yeah I'm moaning xD

And let us not stray off topic, bargains we need! Bargains! ;)

Well I could do that yes... But then I would need to apply an Azerty keyboard, and I never made any mods or used interchangeable parts on a notebook in the past so I don't know wether it's possible, or how to do it...
Are there Azerty keyboards available that fit on that F series of Toshiba?

that should be easily done you just call your local toshiba dealer and tell them you got this new laptop and you need to get a local keyboard (or get it carved), beside of that there is nothing to be done.
when you buy it try to get it with international warranty even if it means some extra $$$

you just add the language in the control panel and you are set.

OMG! I think I just found a service site that actually replaces keyboards, it specifically says under 'reasons for doing so' that some people ordered qwerty and want azerty...
Hopefully they got this specific model :)
It's Replacedirect, you have to send your laptop to them... which will cost something but if they can't fix it, then they just send it back with no extra cost...
Maybe I should see if I can order the Toshiba directly to ReplaceDirect so I don't need to send it to them, probably not gonna be the case though...
What about warranty if I replace the keyboard?
And do any of you know of a Toshiba dealer that ships US models to Europe?
Power supply and things like that won't give issues right?

Gonna check how much all will cost with the uber-high VAT over here... :s

What type of international warranty do you have in mind? I remember reading some posts elsewhere in this forum about one manufacturer's (extra-cost) international warranty that is intended for a U.S. resident whose laptop may require service while he or she is traveling abroad. Anyone requesting service under this warranty may be asked to provide proof of U.S. residence.

I suppose a laptop with an AZERTY keyboard might not be serviced under such a warranty.

"Service level: This service extends your standard warranty from one to five years. Compatibility: This Service is compatible with Tecra A8 and Satellite Pro A120 notebooks only."

You think they have another one available for the Qosmio series?

I looked a bit more into it, to find a model close to Belgium so I don't have to ship it all from the States...
Seems like there actually is a good version available in Czech... although I don't trust it with the language difference and all.
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe..../productPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=1055727

I found another version as well but I don't know where it's available (I think Turkey):
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe..../productPage.do?service=EU&PRODUCT_ID=1055260

Toshiba is really being stupid, why would they want to release it in some European countries and in some not... The netherlands use frigging Qwerty and it's not available there, and in the UK the only version avaiable is a sucky one.

    And yet another one:
