Hi guys,
I've just found this:
Transcend Samsung Chipset 1GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Notebook Memory - $66.95 after rebate.

What do you think?
1. is it a good quality RAm (I have Inspiron6000)
2. would I be able to get it cheaper around Christmas? I can wait that long but this is the best deal I seen so far![]()

I think that would be as good a deal as any that you'll find even during Christmas. I'm not sure if it's "good quality RAM" or not but it probably gets the job done.

Probably only a slightly worse chance it won't work in which case you can send it back.

I Purchased 2 GB of this exact Ram from Newegg for my XPS. It works GREAT, and is made with Samsung chips. Samsung makes a good majority of the chips that go into RAM so don't let the "Kingston" or "Crucial" crowd deter you from saving a few bucks.
Is there better Quality out there? I am sure. Are either of the two above better? Possibly. But if you are looking to increase the RAm and performance, save a few bucks, and enjoy.. Give it a whirl . If you have any problems.. Ship it back.
We aren't running life critical applications here.. So I think you'd be OK. -
well, I'm not computer fetishist so I think I will go for them
thx guys

Will this fit DDR1?

Nope, DDR1 ram and DDR2 ram are two different types of ram, although they use the same number of pins. DDR2 ram using less wattage for it to operate and are used, for now, only in Intel systems. Check the RAM guide for more information:

I bought this RAM for my inspiron 9300 and it works great. So it should work fine with 6000 too.

youve probably alreayd bought it by now but fyi this latency is really high have ytou found a lower latency dimm? oh you boys n girls might like this your samsunng(transcend) is on these charts not bad but these are for desktops so maybe you can find lower timed dims for the notebook at an affordable price.
