This is strange. If you got to Lenovo's site here, it says the SB laptop with 8gb ram, 750gb HD is $949, but if you click on it to customize and buy, select no additional accessories, and then put in the code "USPLENOVO113", you get a price of $1,049.

Anyone know how I can get the $949 price?

I'm looking at it between the Sager 8130 and this one. If it's going to e $1,049, I might as well pay the extra $150 for the Sager, but if I can get it for $949, it would be one hell of a deal...

    thanks

Do you need the 8GB and extra 250GB?

If not, check out the link below.

    Newegg.com - Y560P

i've seen that, but if you CAN get it for $949, why wouldn't you pay an extra $50 for an extra 4GB of ram and 250gb of HD?

that's if they'll allow it for $949, otherwise i concur it wouldn't be worth an extra $150.

Are you tax free buying from Newegg?

If you have to pay tax on Newegg then sure an extra $50 is worth it.

I did a little compare of the laptops i would like.

thanks for thinking about the tax and shipping.

Xotic currently has free shipping, i think...costco would require a $50 membership and 5.5% tax. Newegg has $15 shipping but no tax. Lenovo's home site has free shipping but I'd have to pay 5.5% tax :(

so the prices i have above is the total price...and the points are based on what how much value i value each item...guess the sager is the winner...

*thinking out loud: should I just pull the darn trigger on the sager!?!?!*

    Check this HP DV6T out..

    HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Intel Core i7-2630QM 2GHz, 6GB RAM, 750GB, Touch Screen, Blu-Ray, 15.6-in LED

You can add other stuff instead of Blu-Ray and Touchscreen. The original price has to meet $1399 to use the coupon.

    I chose these upgrades:
    Intel Core i7-2720QM
    Ati Radeon 6570M
    640GB 7200RPM HDD
One 6 Cell and One 9 Cell Lithium-Ion Battery

Coupon also works for HP DV7T on hp.com
    The DV7T has a 1600x900 screen upgrade.

The Sager is the best choice with a better GPU right now, because that seems to be of high concern for you :)
