he is just starting on notebooks. looking to spend between 300-400$ at most needs to have basic specs. pref at least a pentium dual core rather than a m cpu. intel on board gpu is fine. this is mainly for him doing homework and things like that nothing more. i know we bought 4 toshiba's a few months back from office depot for 350$ each but i have not seen that deal again. anyone know of anything out there lmk thanks

he is still in middle school. i dont think he will qualify for discounts. also that model has a celeron. i was at least trying to get a dual core so it would last him a while. the toshiba's we got came with dual core pentium 2080's.. for 350..

Keep an eye on Black Friday deals, but you will probably have to wait in line at a store before it opens to get one. Low end laptop prices went up about $200 recently. A few months back, you could get dual core AMD systems for under $400.

That's the best I could find at a B&M store. I don't think nows a great time to find any good deals.
