    Hey guys,
I'm contemplating modifying my np9370 and i've worked out the wiring and location of some ambient lighting led inside the cooling vents and they look very subtle, and imo very good, but i can't seem to find a way to power them from inside of the laptop. So far the tests have been done with an external power source.

Anyone know a possible location or way to tap into to power off the 12v led ?

    thanks

There usually aren't any. All modern notebook components are 5V or less and higher voltages are only found in the charger/battery circuits. If the battery delivers 11.1V you could try to connect the LEDs to that however remember that short circuiting a LiIon battery can start fires :) Battery connectors almost always have other signals too but it shouldn't be hard to find the power ones as they will be much bigger sized on the receiving circuit board.

try finding it beyond the charging board . laptop charging board is a separate unit on some laptops
