I'm planning to upgrade the screen of my Asus UX51VZ to a higher resolution one in the future, the problem is that I want the HD 4000 to work too. While there is a version of the UX51VZ with a higher resolution screen (2880x1620 pixels) it have the HD 4000 disabled most likely because it can't handle the high resolution. Finding hard data about the Intel GPU is hard but it seems that it should be capable to use a 2560x1440 resolution over a display port connection (the UX51VZ seems to be using an embedded display port connection to the internal screen). So the problem is: does such a screen exist and if so, where can it be bought?

If anyone knows of a 15.6" notebook computer with such a screen please reply with the model number of the computer and/or the model number of the LCD panel. If I find a suitable panel I'll post too in case anyone else is interested.

You would have to wait for the new Samsung Series 9 to come out. It is suppose to have a 2560x1440 panel in it.

Lenovo Thinkpad W540 or Dell M3800/XPS15. The W540 and M3800 are workstations though, while the XPS15 is a consumer version.

No. And you shouldn't consider one even if they did. This is/was an intermediate standard that is now in the process of been supplanted by QHD.

Nevertheless, the stand-alone monitors are still readily available at very reduced prices. In fact, I may get on myself although for non-critical complementary work.

Oh wow... This is exactly the kinds of answer that I just hate.
. You evidently didn't read my post.
. You know better than me what I want. Hint: you are 100% wrong.

I don't want a higher resolution - the hardware doesn't support it! I don't give a f*ck if it is a standard resolution or not - why would I? And I can't have a "stand-alone monitor" built into my _notebook_ computer can I?!?
