I bought a Sager NP9262 and I found that the older Alienware Aurora M7700 uses a older version of the Sager as a base so I ordered up the LCD bezel front and back and put it on my Sager. I now have a Alienware Area-51 9262! Pictures to follow after I get done installing all my new software and OS. I literaly just opened the box my Sager came in and switched the lids. Let me know what you think about my modification. Alienware looks without any of the bad reputation!

Thats pretty cool, cant wait to see some pictures.
It is a very easy swap, the clevo D900 series, all use the same screens and plastic covers.
Heck if you wanted, you could put the lid from my Voodoo onto your system, but I wouldnt let you do that :D

actually I already know some1 that did the LCD case swap with an Alienware one, since he cracked his original D901C lcd cover. :)

It fits fine, but looks funny unless if you re-paint the chassis to make it match the Alienware blue LCD casing.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner I have been having problems with my internet. Anyway, To Gophn- I found a gray and black lid for the swap not a blue lid so it looks pretty good except the Alienware is matte and most of the rest of the notebook is glossy.
To Mrblur- I only swapped over the LCD bezel not all the plastics so I didn't have to worry about those buttons.

Something I didn't figure on was how I would power the LED's in the Alienware logo, Im gonna need to get a LCD powerboard from a Alienware and swap it for mine and it should work. I'll have pictures really soon! Thanks for the replies.

The alienware head led's are powered off the backlight of the screen.
here is a picture, of where you connect the LED's to

the voltage coming out of the two connections, is 19.67 volts, as seen in this image:

The two large metal contacts on the screen inverter, are where you solder the leads to the led's to.
All d900 series laptops use the same screen and the same inverter.
This is where I am drawing the power from, to power all of the led's I put onto my Voodoo laptop.

I have told this to Mr. Blur, and he is going to be doing the same thing.

    1800th post :D

Yeah, That was the board I was talking about getting from the Alienware. I don't mind soldering if I have to, But I'd rather just get the board it will plug right into.
