Apple Stickers On PCs

I am a Neuro undergrad, and I am sick and tired of seeing Apple laptops at school...

But seriously, I get why it bugs you. I'm a PC user and it bugs me too when people put Apple stickers on their laptops. No. You didn't get a mac. Stop trying to be like everyone else.

maybe this is because these people think the "Apple way" (dock etc) is better for organizing apps? i don't see why Apple should be allowed exclusive rights to this or anything.

what's so bad about windows? i don't think it became one of the most dominant product series ever just by chance...

I was definitely one of those people who had WinXP skinned and docked out to look like the then new OSX aqua theme, and I still prefer the aesthetic of a minimal desktop with not a ton of icons and I've always liked the dock launcher (used to use YzDock for years). However, it wasn't an issue of brand popularity or "cool" factor. I think skinning and docks are just an issue of how people choose to interact with their computers. Look at all the incredible linux desktops out there with transparencies, multiple desktops, etc. I still swear by Windows (just migrated over to a Vista system and can't say I have any issues with it, compared to my years of XP Pro.

Apple logo stickers on the outside of PCs just might be showing the owner's affiliation with their iPods and iPhones. If not, then it's just trendy, but IMO, so is the iPod hegemony.

 

I can understand your point, but because of my nature I'm going have to correct you on a few mistakes.

First yes, when people go out and buy merchandise (Notice buy, as in the user buys a product, not the company pays the user.) to advertise a company, it's kinda sad.
I do not understand what a "apple" desktop is, but perhaps I am just not as well enlightened.

As for the taskbar seriously I'm going have to hurt someone if people keep referencing docks as a apple exclusive feature. It has been used on other operation systems before and after Apple. No sorry people Apple did not create it, and they certainly, are not the only OS that uses it. There are even other operation systems that use it as a primary bar to access applications. (Look it up yourself.)

No not everyone hates Microsoft, only a lot of the media. Which has of course lead to the masses to believe such things, but no the media are NOT everyone. (Plus there are media who like Microsoft.)

I have read your Linux comment a couple times. It leaves me to conclude you have poor grammar, or you have no idea what your talking about, or I'm a idiot. As far as I know all Linux is, is a kernel, used in the OS of Ubuntu. So yes Ubuntu is "Linux" because it uses a Linux kernel.

I will not even begin to comment on your utterly hopeless comment about Ubuntu being Vista with additional themes....I'm just not going to even go there.

 

You know what would be funnier...

Buy a Mac and put a giant Windows sticker on it. Rofl all the apple fanboys will cry in hate.

 

You know what I do when I go to the Apple store? I change all the backgrounds of all the laptops to the default Dell background... .

I have an Apple sticker cover my Dell logo on my Vostro. I love Windows, I hate Mac OS, and I love making fun of Macs and mocking them.
