    Hi there.

Simple and quick question: what's the best way to clean a laptops screen?

I used to think that a simple piece of soft, dry cloth (as often given when you purchase new glasses / lenses for your glasses) would work against all sorts of smudges, but I found out it sometimes lacking.

    What are your suggestions?

Iso-propyl Alcohol on a microfiber cloth. Works every time.

That isn't for the uninitiated. Only once you master several special techniques can you use sandpaper. Oh, you also have to sign the "I'm an idiot" release form.

I just use a micro-fibre cloth. A little hot breath on the screen works wonders.

first i use windex on the outside of the laptop with paper towel, once the paper towel is wet it is soft enough to use on the screen, and keyboard, works great. on my external, i use the same method. then touch up everything with the microfiber for dust and whatever.

make sure not to use a dry paper towel that will leave micro scratches

doesnt windex contain ammonia? do not use ammonia to clean lcd screens, as it will eventually discolor the screen.

As others have said - an anti-static microfiber cloth. :D

All the dirt and dust stick to the cloth leaving your screen as clean as you like!

Works great for cleaning most things actually.

    You would recommend that. :D

For now I use both a eyeglass microfiber cloth and a big 15"x15"microfiber cloth. Just need some good spray cleaner like that Shaggymac spray.

I'm wearing glasses, it's convenient for me to use the eye glass cleaner and its microfiber cloth.

I have this box of alcohol wipes that last like...forever. I use the wipes once a month or so and on daily basis I use a micro fiber cloth (bought from Walmart, works well)
