Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I have a XPS 1530 and it appears to have a line in the the screen, which seems to be from the spacebar. Is it possible to clean/remove these marks? Any suggestions?

yes, you can clean these marks away.

You need to buy a microfibre cloth, and that will clean all of the residue away.
If you do not have one, you can use a soft cloth, with some rubbing alcohol on it, and you can use that to clean your screen.
(If you use rubbing alcohol, put the alcohol on the cloth and than on the screen. Dont just spill rubbing alcohol on the screen.)

If you have let it go too long they will be permanent. Place something on top of your keyboard before you close the lid to prevent further damage.

It appears to be permanent. Any chance that dell will replace it under warranty? It appears that the space bar is sitting a little higher than the rest of the keys.

Its caused by putting pressure on the lid when it is shut. This is wear and tare done by you. The screen does not touch it when it is not pressed upon.

And no dell will not replace it unless you have complete care warranty.

I have not carried it around or anything though. When looking at the keyboard, the spacebar sticks up ore then the rest of the keys.

It is a design flaw on a number of laptops. It is dependent on the engineering and thus does not have a 0-degree of fault tolerance across every notebook. One of my laptop's screen rests on the screen when latched, the other does not even touch due to a sturdy set of built-in spacers, even under normal backpack pressures. You can probably increase the spacers size by a bit and see how that works.
