    I was wondering if there was a proper way to do this. Like maybe lift off the keys to get the dust off? (Last time I tried I killed one of my keys on my old computer) And yes I'm talking about notebooks

    Compressed air not on high and wipe the surface keys off with a cloth.

    ^ yep.. i use windex on a paper towel and rub the keys one by one.. then turn the notebook over and use a can of dust remover (basically compressed air) to blow out the junk

    y dont try small vacumm cleaner proffesionaly made for notebooks google it as notebook vacumm cleaner

    I use a brush with fine bristles.

    i just use compressed air and disinfecting wipes (to remove the on-key built up junk)
