Well I am wondering if there are any companies that make clear notebook/laptop skins?
I am looking for one that covers the back of the screen and the actual screen.
I just want to protect the notebook from any future blemishs.
I like the looks of the notebook so thats why I want a clear skin.
I will appreciate any help!
Thanks in advance everyone!

Awww I was hoping to come in and see a thread about clear laptop cases. As for a sticker to protect your laptop I dont know any reputable companies sadly. Im sure there are places out there that make something that will fit your needs.

zagg.com is known for there protective films. I have one on my 17 MBP. Pain to put on but it gives me major piece of mind.

Note: any clear skin will change the finish to whatever the appearance of the skin is. Zagg/BestSkinsEver/[other products that use similar material] tend to yellow with age and develop an orange peel texture when they dry. Incredibly durable, but it just won't look the same.

I checked with zagg invisibleSHIELDS and they have quite a few, but they dont have one for the Dell 1564 I just ordered.
I also found out that Ghost Armor has skins too. They actually have one for a Dell 1564 for $39.99. I am not to familiar with Ghost Armor though. -
You can get invisible SHIELD and cut it to your laptop size. That could work

Oh cool! I guess Ill just have to call and ask for a universal skin?

Best Skins Ever is awesome and much cheaper.

I'd imagine that this might be a cheaper solution. Find a local sign shop that does vinyl work. Bring in your laptop and ask if they can cut you a piece of clear high-performance vinyl. Shouldn't cost more than a couple dollars.
I used to work at a sign shop and we did alot of vinyl work. We always had small pieces laying around that we really couldn't use.
Once something is made with a specific intention, like a company that sells what they call "skins" they can charge more. When all they are doing is cutting sheets of vinyl, slapping a name on them and overcharging.
BTW, make sure you ask for high-performance vinyl. That type of vinyl is similar to the vinyl that automobile manufacturers use for pinstriping and lettering on vehicles.
Let me know how you make out. -

Due to having skin that seems to always wear through the finish of products I touch constantly, the things I've used before as a clear protector:
Lots of scotch tape (getto
Clear Shelving protector (just sticks on, lasted for years, did turn yellow)
Frisket (like the shelf protector just thinner and higher quality. google it if you don't know)
I've been using the frisket most recently. It is a lot like the zagg stuff, maybe not as flexible (which can be good because it doesn't stretch as much when you put it on, but bad because it doesn't handle curves as well). The only problem since using this and clear shelf protector on my current HDX18t is that it pulls and wrinkles up eventually. I don't know if it's because of the gloss finish or what, but it is a little annoying and doesn't look great. But when I used the same stuff on my old HP with just a painted grey finish, it lasted years and never moved or wrinkled.
I'm wondering if the zagg stuff pulls, wrinkles, and curls eventually like the frisket does? I've had zagg on other products, but it was a small, flat surface, so I don't think that experience automatically carries over to the computer protectors. -
Zaggs = Orange peel
I'd avoid their crappy film material. -
3M Scotchcal. It's the stuff they make clear car bras out of.

I love Invisible Shields. In recent years, the product has been less orange peely, but yeah that characteristic has never completely gone away. Still, it's the only thing that keeps the original aesthetics while actually protecting your device. Plus, the lifetime replacements are pretty sweet.

I first used InvisibleShield and it turned out to be a complete failure. I was expecting something that would protect my iPad from mistakes that could potentially get it scratched, and I was expecting something that would make my iPad look "clear." InvisibleShield didn't do none of that, it actually did worse. The skin was way too conspicuos and outlandish looking on my screen. The layer had some "creases", and the result was an iPad that looked like I had wrapped it with a plastic shopping bag. I just had to take it off.
Before I got InvisibleShield, I was never even fond of these "skins", in the first place. I was skeptical of their quality. After the disappointing experience with InvisibleShield my skepticism was reinforced. But then after a slip gave my iPad a scratch mark, I decided to go search for a good transparent skin again. I ordered Gadgetshieldz. I hoped it wouldn't end up like its predecessor: In the trash.
After applying Gadgetshieldz my iPad was glistening. It had no "creases", my iPad screens appearance and texture was flawless and smooth. It was in stark contrast of its predecessor. Before I doubted the use of protective skins, but now I'm satisfied that I have Gadgetshieldz on my iPad. -
sorry for digging up an old thread, but I am also looking for a clear skin. Found nothing on ebay.
gadgetshieldz does not seem to sell a large enough skin for a 14" laptop. and InvisibleShield and bestskinsever seem to be quite a bit more expensive than the pattern ones on ebay.
I just need something to cover it from scratches from normal usage, not keys, or knives or anything like that.
I wish i was still in China, these are so easy to find and cheap there. -
zagg invisishield has small kiosks in malls, they also customize the cutting specific to your device if they don't carry it pre-cut.
really great for laptops (although disappointed when i used it on my mobile phone as the color turned a bit brownish after 5-6 months), and the scratch protection offered really does a great job in protecting from scratches.
Clear Laptop Skins? Do they exist?
