Hello, I have an Asus laptop (A8J IIRC) that has a nasty looking discolourisation on the left palm rest. When I first saw it I thought it was some sort of smudge and gave it a wipe with some soapy water and tissue. To my surprise, it actually got worse and noticed the painting was coming off it when I lightly scratched it with my fingernail...I suspect a sweaty session of gaming a few days ago may have caused this.

I now have a really bad looking palmrest and the more I see it, the more I am annoyed by it.
What are my options to have this problem resolved? Is it possible to change the palm rest? Do I need to paint over it? Or should I just get a sticker and cover it over?

I can post the picture if you need to see it, once I get home.
    Appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

we have almost the same laptop (a8j). my touchpad is looking very bad and my palmrest too. luckily, the top case of my laptop has a crack so the entire chassis of my laptop including the palmrest got replaced.

You should be able to replace the palm rest plastics. Otherwise sand off the old paint and paint it again.

it's probably not worth your time or your money. just get a black or glossy finish notebook next time.
