I need a Palm rest and am willing to make it myself. It needs to stop sweat getting through and be thin any idea what to use?

    Something like contact paper perhaps?

You want a cover for a palmrest you already have or do you need an entire new palmrest? If it's the latter, you'd be better off finding a donor laptop.

just look on eBay for a palm rest for the model laptop you have and replace it? Or even better you might be able to find an entire set of plastics (meaning the whole case) for a reasonable amount.

I always do that and for the lifetime of my system I never need worry about any part of the case failing as I have backup parts for the each descrete part of the case. It also would give you an extra lid if you wanted to take a whack at painting it or having it done.

hey I just thought of something...you might try fabricating something out of formica tiles? They come in cool colors, are rock hard AND you can coat them with a sealant. But remember that all sealants will still be porous not matter what. I might be an interesting experiment to go get a few Armstrong Formica tiles and see what you can create...

Or another option would be to get a small sheet of formica countertop laminate. This might be the easiest solution of all.
