Good? Bad? Shoot myself? I'd love your opinion!![]()

Edit: Sadly, I recieved no performance increase from these stripes![]()

Very nice
Does it stay on there pretty good?

Yea it sticks very well, although I haven't tried to rub it off or anything. I also feel safer because it will provide some minor protection to me if I am struck by lightning!
-
Racing stripes make your laptop faster!
:-D -
On the second picture, the tape looks a bit messy in the lower right corner, where it goes over the hinge. I would cut the tape so that it doesn't cover the hinge. You can push the ends into the gap between the lid and the hinge to give it a cleaner look. Otherwise, not a bad idea!
-
not bad at all!

I've had ideas of a fully duct taped notebook, curtesy of my friend whom is obsessed with it. From a fully featured wallet, to a rhasta hat, to his prom suit AND his date's dress(He has pictures, it's amazing).

Haha, The prom one his GF is really embarassed about, so only the circle of friends can have 'access' to it, but I'll see when I see him next(we both live near campus about 5-6 hours away
).

Quite a unique idea…. Now just don't let that tape become warm / hot. I have used electric tape a lot, and if it gets warm, some of the stickiness will begin to come out the edges of the piece of tape, making the whole area around it very sticky.
-
i do like ur idea/design
as Jason mentioned above, electrical tape can become messy with time
how about using the stencil tapes used in auto detailing? they do come in different width and colours - actually now that i say it, it's a go/try out on my laptop
cheers ... -
That looks pretty sweet! Nice job!
-
Thanks guys, I only went with electrical tape because it was readily available to me... And it only took maybe 5 minutes to do.
-
I've put tape on a bass guitar before. It looks cool but after a while it will probably wear off and you'll be left with a sticky residue. I've heard that lighter fluid should help take that off. But watch where it goes and use it very sparingly on a laptop!

If you want to clean with lighter fluid (or anything flammable), put it on the rag/cloth/towel, then wipe whatever you want to clean. Do NOT just pour lighter fluid directly on your laptop! And do it in a well-ventilated area.
-
and maybe check that it won't rub the paint right off the plastic (!)
Electrical Tape Fun!
