Hey I have some water damage to 2 or 3 keys on a dell laptop, Is there anyway to get a replacement keyboard for the computer or is the computer pretty much shot? How hard would this repair be, and could dell repair the keyboard if I send it into dell, thanks

If you have accidental coverage, they'll send you a new keyboard. If you don't you'll have to purchase a new one from them.

Keyboards are really easy. Just a matter of a few screws and disconnecting a cable. You can get them fairly cheap on ebay.

i've a toshiba U-205...spilled a whole coke on the keyboard...not to much work to take the keyboard off...i'm sure you can google for how to take it off by model number of the computer...anyways...took mine apart...sprayed it down really good with electrical contact cleaner... make sure the label on the cleaner says won't harm plastic...good as new... the keyboard pad is pretty much like a desktop board...plastic mainboard...plugs into the laptop with a small ribbon cable...just use caution and handle with care...clean it all...even the keyboard itself....

    What model Dell?

You can go to the Dell Support website and download or view the service manual for your machine which will give you specific instructions on how to change it out with photos.

I bought one for my wife's Inspiron 6000 and it cost $14.00 for the keyboard. Took less than 3 minutes to replace.

Your biggest problem is the water, if you'd drink beer instead then you wouldn't end up wrecking your keyboard. I've spilled beer into my Dell keyboard and it still works well.
