dont use toothpaste, I tried it and it scratched it alot more.
I have tried skin creams, like aloe and it works. Vaseline is bad, its sticky, and smears and gets all gooky. Clear chapstick works decently,, but no matter the case you will always have a scratch. the most you can do to hide it is to buy a screen protector.

I had the same happen. I was in architecture studio, and some kid, who I am really pissed at through a gatorade cap, and it put a nice 1 inch scratch in my screen. of course warranty did not cover it cause the screen is not damaged as in dead pixels, but its really annoying. I will have to buy myself a replacement screen probably this summer.

if its a matte screen not much will do to save it, if its a glossy surface u caaan try mild abrasives or abrasives like brasso but i strongly dont recommend it

definitely stay away from toothpaste! especially the ones with those flavor crystals or has small beads/texture in them. they will just make it worst.

as far as abrasives, be very careful. i would read and check up if the finish of yur screen can handle an abrasive. i don't know too much in this particular area, but i imagine u would probably have to look for a very mild product.

There are products that are made to remove scratches from iPods. They should do the trick.

I dont think their is any surefire way to repair an lcd scratch, other than replacing the film on the screen, which will most likely destroy the panel in the process.
Other than that youc an really only hide it by using a screen protector. A cut is a cut and its not repairable.

ive used displex before. it will work if the scratch is not to deep. it DOES work..as i said as long as you are not trying to remove something super deep.. usualy if you can get your finger nail in it its to deep like when running it over the scratch
