I spent about a month of preparation and about 10 hours collectively of actual work on my laptop. I'm not done as I still need to add a few more coats of clear coat and I'll end up waxing it in a week or so to get it to really shine. Let me know what you guys think.

First off, welcome to the boards
It looks pretty nice.
The red contrasts nicely with the black.
I hope you outlined and sanded the case a bit before painting over it.
To get a nice shine, spray a layer of clear over the system.
Wait until its dry, and then wetsand the clear. Do this about 3-4 times.
By layer 4 the surface will be super smooth and very reflective.
Wetsanding is done with 1200-2000 grit sandpaper.
If you want the best shine, I would contact a nearby autopaint store. If you bring your laptop, and show them what you are doing, they will gladly help you an give you some good tips on how to get a perfect surface.
