Hi! All, i have a Dell inspiron 1450, i was not using the laptop since a month. It was kept shut for 1 month, i started the laptop and saw a big black spot on the monitor in the bottom part of the screen. It seems like a LCD problem, can moisture cause problem to the LCD, i have been charging the laptop for the whole day but the spot still persists. If any one has any idea about this kindly share.

Did someone step on the thing or otherwise apply pressure to the screen/laptop?

No there was no pressure applied to the screen at all but it was just kept in a cupboard for over a month

Well regardless of how and why, sounds like you are dealing with dead pixels - and I'm not sure what can be done about them short of getting a new screen if it's that important to you.
