    Just a quick question:
I got a laptop with green LEDs... I wanna change them to blue LEDs. Is it just as easy as saying to take apart the laptop, cut the green LEDs, solder on the blue LEDs then put it back together? Or is it a more involved process than that?

    Thanks

p.s. sorry if this has been asked before

mmm as far as I know a lot of leds are built into the actual cover, so I don't think that it's easy to do, if feasible at all.

Well... I just want to replace the LEDs for the... say the lights behind the power / HDD / cpu / battery / etc indicators.

Does it depend at all on the brand and the era the laptop it's from? Mine's a Toshiba Portege 3500 (circa 2002 I think?)....

The green LEDs are really.... boring. Blue is sooo much cooler :)

My guess is that it can depend on the laptop.

They are all a little different inside :)

I wouldn't be able to tell you anything about yours though,
the easiest thing to do is to open it and look. I don't think you'll be able to change those led lights, but I might be wrong :)

Depends. You could swap a blue led for a green (or white orwhatever) but not for a Red/yellow led. Chances are it'll work but there remains a small chance it'll damage the notebook in the long run.

There are different sizes of LEDS. Different voltages, wattages, and ones that differ in size. If your willing to take the risk of voiding your warranty, then go for it! Otherwise, I'd try another method of making your laptop look cooler.
