I have a HP DV5000 laptop. I don't know what the hell he did but a small portion of the speaker grille looks like it has been scratched off so I can see the silver behind the black paint now. That part looks like its receded also because the paint is missing. Is there a way I can replace the whole grille? Please advice on what to do please. I'm freaking out right now.
Here's the portion that's messed up just to make it clear.

maybe a sharpie?
-
maybe a permanent black marker would help?
-
or maybe a new brother
i know how it feels...my little bro dropped my french horn about 8 years ago...that thing needed some serious repair! -
i can imagine it would be expensive to replace part like that, expensive to the stuff u get i mean.
-
I second that. My HP ZV5000 has a similar grill and the paint wore off to silver, so I used a permanent black marker and good as new.
Its the cheapest and safest solution. Replacing the whole grill would be very expensive to do for such a minor cosmetic damage. -
you sure its just not a scuff?
i have scuffs all over my 32 inch monitor's speakers from throwing my mouse and it looks like the paint is scratched but it really isnt -
sure u can, but it is quite expensive as mentioned wobble987
just "carbonfiberize" it man
(any colour u fancy)

Sure, blame the little brother...
-
why did you have your little brother do it?
-
stab him in the neck with a pair of scissors when he's not looking.
-
Why don't you just get rid of it? I'll take it off your hands and you can buy a new one.
-
Maybe you can clear the paint on all that region uniformly, it would give it a little something extra.
-
...how often do you need to get new mice?
-
how often do you have to send in your LCD for repair?
Little brother messed up paint job on the laptop...
