    M15x Paint Job...

    I am currently working on the lid

    I was going to do a yellow with black racing stripes but I decided not to when a user told me some good news ...

    (badddddd quality and i didnt know I could remove the alien head and plastic riveted peice :eek: (newb)

    Now it is going to be a green lid with maybe some designs in there I am not sure ...

    I will update as I go ... It will be days since I am doing this the right way and I am letting it dry at least 12-24 hours per coat.

    From the picture provided it seems clear the Alienhead was masked with masking tape. Look towards the top the paint is wrinkled my the tape...

    I didnt want to damage it but I found a decent way to remove it after I sanded it the second time. I am still up in the air wether to leave it green or change ,...

    It is very possible just takes a lot of time, a steady hand, and several coats of paint.

    Isn't the M15x anodized too? I would think you could just go to a body shop that anodizes aluminum and have them refinish it to a professional standard. Never done this with a laptop (lol) but have gotten several car parts refinished.

    hmmm.. I heard of it being done. They call it clearcoat painting or something. Just for glossy finish.

    Anything for protection? The paint is gonna get scraped for sure :(

    Maybe Triple clearcoat uh? :D

    Did you sand down the bezel before you painted?
    Looking at your pictures it doesnt look like it.
