I can't complain because it was free, but ....

the skinit was a few cm larger than it needed to be, corners did not wrap as well as Ive seen in others(or maybe i just cant install it right :) ). It came with one of the corners peeled up and stuck onto the paper instruction sheet so unable to stick that corner well. It seemed to scratch easily, nothing deep or anything just small 'swirl' marks in it when rubbing it down with soft cloth for it to adhere well and remove any waves/bubbles. Still I like the way it looks and its easy to remove if needed and doesn't leave any residue.

I tried to cut it down to size, but kept messing up the edges and not cutting straight, finally gave up and cut it to this shape. I should have taken more time on it but you get the idea of what it looks like here.

For free...it was a great deal, and I like the way it turned out!

Thats pretty cool! How much does a Skinit cost? And are they for HP notebooks exclusively?

Thanks, I got this one for free from HP, just had to enter my serial#, was a limited time thing I guess. I am sure there are other companies that make them but I just looked at the skinit.com site and they are around $30 and have other brand laptops you can get them for.

Hey man thats cool. I feel ya on the 'ok' part though. If I had to pay $30 for mine, I would have been disappointed too. Definately unique with the way its cut out. I didn't like the fact the it caused swirls as easily as it did, but I would much rather for it to be scratched than for the laptop's finish to be scratched. To help with the corners on mine lay down, I used a hair dryer and tried using a razor to cut a small slit so it would overlap, or cut it off completely. Turned out fine for it being free. You have a 14.1" as seen in your sig, mine is 15.4", so luckily I didn't have to worry with it being too large. A good size straight edge paper cutter would have come in real handy in your case. Anyway, enjoy it man. For me, who knows, I may get tired of it some day and peel it off, but for now, its a cool change up for design and offers good protection from scratches!
