I would buy the computer for the hardware, not the looks. I can always fix the looks later :) Especially since I like things a little more custom than what manufacturers provide.
Of the ones you posted I think the sonys are the best looking.

By looks alone, I'd go with the different colored Vaios. In fact I've seen the Pink Vaio in person and looks really nice. It's an eye catcher for sure.

The blackBook would have got my vote, but it wasn't there, and those Vaios are pretty, so Sony gets my vote.

Of course, neither Apple nor Sony makes a notebook that suits my substantial appetite for graphical power. If only Clevo would leave the silly carbon fibre decals off their upcoming M570RU. (They should also offer alternative colours for the trim, move those silly front audio ports, center the trackpad and power/volume/etc buttons, promise me that the lid will be matching matte black, and get rid of the silver webcam ring.)

the HP laminated finish is very pretty, but not very practical. I mean, it's supposed to be tough VS scratches... But it's not.

so I chose sony since I will never buy a white notebook in all my life.

actually, the finish that i want is a showroom finish - similar to that of a showroom car :)

Different coloured finishes... The problem with that though, is most retail places only stock one colour per model. I got my Toshiba m70 from futureshop, and while the site offered a few colour options(2 which looked great, 2 which were not so great) the brick and mortar store only had one in the sku i was interested in... and it was one of the not so great colours(Pea**** blue :|)

If i was going to get a macbook, and i still might assuming it gets a proper update before i purchase a replacement for my M70, i would order one of those speck cases with it. Add some colour and protect that easy to scratch finish.

The Sony look. My experience with HP's imprint finish scuffing and just generally looking nasty for all the finger prints and smug marks after just a few month turns me off of their otherwise cool design.

I voted for the HP Imprint finish, as I think it's beautiful and very different from most notebooks out there. I did buy a HP laptop, but sadly I had to send it back, as although it was gorgeous to look at, it was hideous to listen to (it made a horrible high-pitched whining noise).

I now have a Dell which I intend to customise. Although I would have loved the HP and its Imprint finish, I prefer the idea of having a notebook that is completely unique.

Sony's colors attracts me to buy that laptop tremendously, even if it sucks.
