I know a few people have been concerned about Smooth Creations not getting back to you about projects (or being concerned about a lapse in customer service). I spoke to the boss their and found out they have been swamped with work from Alienware (they did teh Superman laptops and mALX laptops). While they are still busy they are taking new projects here and there. We are working plans on my next build in fact.

Please also note they are in the process of improving their web presence which should improve the ordering process for new projects.

I got a question about Smooth Creations. Usually how long does it take to get your laptop back given that it takes like a week to ship it to them and another week to get it back?

Do you ship your laptop as a whole without removing the parts? Also, when they paint laptops, do they warrant any parts they break when taking your laptop apart? I mean, when I get the computer back, I don't want to have a nice looking computer that doesn't work.

    Thanks

I hand deliver mine stuff because they are about 4 hours away and just a half and hour drive from my in-laws house.

I do not know their official policy on warranty but I can tell you they go the extra mile to make sure everything works and it to your liking. The only problem I had was that I went through a middleman (I bought my laptop thru Hypersonic) who would not allow me to communicate directly with Smooth on that project so the kerning on the font on my case did not get corrected (they used the font I sent which had issues). I did go directly through them for my desktop (I just delivered the empty case for that project.

How long does it take for them to reply to e-mails?

I want to know their price and stuff but they have to answer my e-mail. :(

    I'm pumped.

One sweet paintjob. Jim would not betray you by sending me pix of your rig without your express permission.

I guess they're busy this week and haven't responded to my recent e-mails.

The phone number on their site... what time do they close?

I didn't get the chance to call today. Was busy. Hopefully I can reach them tomorrow.
