The shell of my laptop (like the area around the keypad, around the screen, the top cover) is a high gloss finish and very prone to finger prints and stuff. I was wondering if there is a product or method to remove the high gloss finish to create a 'matte' smooth non reflective finish but still keep the colour of the paint, that way it won't be so 'fingerprint-able'. I am not talking about the actual LCD screen which is all I found on the net. My laptop is black and I would hope for a more simple method cause taking the laptop apart and all that is not what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance!

I would love such a thing... I hate fingerprint magnets... :\ my notebook is always so so so dirty despite all the care I have with it

I agree! I got my laptop in August of this year and people are telling me that it looks a few years old. I died a little on the inside : (. I didn't really considered this being a problem when I first got it cause I was more into the function and how it works, but its truly so bothersome and embarrassing to clean the fingerprints off the laptop like every few hours. I'm sure there is a way out there that can remove a gloss surface (even if its not meant to be done on laptops). I'm kind of desperate! lols

You can try lightly sanding it with super fine plastic abrasive(schto-brite stuff) or with 2,000 grit sandpaper.

SGP has palm rests covers and skins. I got a skin and it looks really good. They seem to have a wide selection.
