That is an interesting idea although black is getting a bit common on many notebooks. See here, for example.

I would leave all the chamfer around the edge of the keyboard in silver, so it is like what already is at the back. It will help the black keyboard to stand out from the black palm rest.

    That looks very nice.

How do you make that the sheet does not peel at the edges under normal use? How thick is the sheet and where do you get it?

I presume that the rubber pads each side of the keyboard which support the display when closed would be covered by the sheet.

btw... i was planning to use the real carbon fiber which is 0.2mm thick... not the sticker look like carbon vinyl one... cause the real carbon fiber will actually give more protection to my laptop... :) eventho this is only a plan.. :)

so about the edges does not peel... i think the adhesive part is really good for the edge... so its not that easy to be peel off... and to have the good finishing... i think there a trick which i will ask the supplier... maybe same trick like using the Carbon Vinyl sticker

btw... you can get the real Carbon Fiber Sheet from coolbulb... there are various type... but the one we looking for is the 0.2mm sheet with adhesive backed as we need it to stick on the laptop... :) but these sheet is not suitable for engine cover tho... :) you can buy the other sheet if you planning to use on ur engine cover...

the price for 9.7" x 24" is $84.95... this is expensive actually... i will try to search for other supplier with better price... :D

about the rubber pad... yup... it will be covered... only if you make a hole to give the rubber pad a room to go thru...

They sell real carbon fiber sheets? Just be aware that unless its ridgid, it will not add more support.
