    1. you need to get the carbon fiber foil
    2.a blowdryer and a blade
3.get someone to help you if you want better results
4.apply the foil starting from the ending and apply some heat and use a credit card or something similar to put it on place so you dont get bubbles or wrinkles, in the corners you just apply a little more heat and you can strech it in order to make it look good
    5. patience you will need it :D

Hello guys, I am new here and noticed this carbon fiber vaio. I have done this mod to my Compaq N800C a long time ago. I holds up good depending on how you grab and handle your laptop otherwise it will last for many years probably. I cut my edges short so no overhang otherwise it will wear off the carbon design and turn black on the edges.

Looks fantastic! :) I like the final result a lot. It looks very professionally done.

Too bad I'd neverr do that to my Blackbook. I mean, I paid about $200 for paint, I'm not about to cover that up. :p

    But really, great results!

It's a simulated film, just do a search on carbonn fiber film and you should get plenty of hits.

Just like my sig says, Mac OS X. almost 6 months without Windows, well i have it on vmware fusion but rarely use it, im happy with my hackbook :p
@ trueintentions my friend came to mod his black macbook but i dropped the project cause is a pain in the neck for those ones since the borders of the lid are magnet and the vinyl wont stick properly.
@ zolek i already post my steps and you can do a search in the forum for more related projects ;)

Very nice work! :) Does the carbon stick when you heat it up or something? How does that work? Could you remove it easily? I would consider doing something like this to my notebooks lid. Also several people have asked where you purchased the foil. I think I have seen it on eBay, but where did you get it?

Is self adhesive and safe to remove,i got mine on pepboys for 25 bucks and they come in different styles,a friend of mine got his from a sticker store and they have it cheaper and you can ask for the certain amount that you want plus the style was different too.
