Thanks to teamkillahilla for finding a ton of great paint jobs![]()

OK, I'll go first and post my notebook.
I was inspired buy a screen saver. The paint is PPG auto paint applied via an airbrush with the Asus S96J intact and masked off. The Logitech MediaPlay mouse was painted to match.
more pics -
Wow, great job on the laptop!
-
That is a very nice looking paint job!
Nice laptop spec wise as well!
-
I must agree...that was a good paint job.
-
Just did this tonight. Read about the carbon fiber vinyl decals in another thread, stopped by Pepboys and picked up a roll to try it out. It turned out pretty good. I've got enough for a redo but I think I'll see how this first run holds up.
Click the pictures, it'll take you to Flickr for bigger versions.
What do you think? -
Very Nice
let us know how it wears -
Hey that is pretty slick looking! I like it!
@Circa: Gotta love the Logitech MediaPlay mouse! I have that mouse as well, I really like it, but my USB receiver broke. I was actually considering soldering it inside my notebook, but I haven't had the chance yet, and I don't think it is working anymore anyway! -
yeah, I have given mine a couple of good blows when I have forgotten to unplug it.
I really wish someone would make an express card rf mouse so it would all be internal. -
@am_dragon
I really like the carbon look, looks really professional, do you also have put carbon on the inside around the keyboard? -
If I ever get something to show I will post it here
-
PCMEDIC - Just the cover. I didn't like the plain gray, of the lid. I don't want to go overboard though.
-
Wow! These notebooks are amazing.
I particularly like the fact that both of you have modified your mice as well - great attention to detail. -

hey guys, I was thinking of creating a thread where everyone can post cool paint jobs for laptops.
Rules like this:
1) One or max two high quality pictures of the paint job
2) For further pics and tutorial add link to original page (see below)
3) If you know, add the paint brand being used and laptop model name
I will start with some right away, so you know better what I mean
cheers
TeamkillaHilla -
I am moving this thread to the Notebook Cosmetic Modifications forum.

not a selfmade job, but done by www.ColorwarePC.com, they sell painted laptops and desktops.
Currently the following are available: DELL Inspiron 14-17", IBM Lenovo Thinkpad T60 and soon NX260X, MacBook 13.3" and MacBook Pro 15" & 17"
You can choose from 28 different colors (coming in metalic and solid)
at http://www.colorwarepc.com/products/select_dell17.aspx?configid=1216 you can configure your colors, it is also quite nice to see what your dell, or Mac would look like in one of the 28 colors they offer, so you can decide for your own paint job what colors you'd go with.. I personally like the JetBlack -
teamkillahilla Notebook Evangelist
commercial modifier: XOTIC PC ( www.xoticpc.com)
you can choose from 4 major brands: Clevo/Sager, ASUS, MSI, Compal and customize your new laptop.. skins start at $89, paintjobs at $229
check out their gallery (scroll down): http://www.xoticpc.com/extfinish.htm
you can come up with your own design and they will paint it for you.. I think that's quite neat and justifies the price

Nice job TKH, I tried to start a thread like this a while back ... I'll see if we can get them merged.

Awesome textured mod!!
Computer is a Rock Extreme 64.
Mod uses latex, clay, epoxy resin, acrylic primer, and leds. A tad bit more extreme than just paint but deserves a place here.

my thread has been hijacked
-
Hijacked how?? It is still on topic.
-
teamkillahilla Notebook Evangelist
yeah but it's all messy now (with all kind of comments on page 1) and it looks like you started the threat, you could have asked me, you know.. would have been polite
-
mods merged the threads b/c they are the same topic and we don't like to have multiple threads with the same content if possible.

Sorry TKH. I ask Niki to merge my thread with yours, not the other way around, but I guess she did it that way because this thread was already here.
The comments will come either way, kinda the point of a forum. I'm just glad I'm not the only one trying to get others excited about some great looking notebooks.
Anyways, check this:
