I was in China this past month and purchased practically 500 stickers. It only cost about $5 total.Anyways, I spent about an hour stickerizing my macbook. The white is just plain lame. It screams stickers! HAHA! I've gotten mixed reviews. The hardcore mac zealots are hanging their heads in shame and shunning me, haha! But I've gotten lots of compliments too. But whatever, it's cool.

OMG i love it!
i see sakura stickers as well as a KAKASHI sticker
EDIT: LOL and a team 7 sticker.. i need to go to china -
: shakes head :
poor macbook haha -
If you had stuk to a theme i.e. just coca cola or just manga/anime then i think it might look good, but atm it sort of looks messy. But as long as youl like it that all that matters
-
why spend that much on a georgous, clean looking macbook, to stick $5 stickers on it???
-
how bout some pics?
its hard to puke at the idea if i cant see a picture -
yea, what he said ^
-
I too was under the impression that macs are clean and shiny. if you like it, that's great, i think i might want a keropi sticker. maybe batz maru...
-
i feel sorry for the macbook -
hehe... looks very busy

oh wow!
looks almost like this riced out rx-7
-
Some people should just not be allowed to own a laptop.
Just kidding... are you a male or a female btw? -
just in defense of the rx7, that isn't riced out. If the car doesn't perform at the level that it's body trim and accessories would suggest, then it's riced out. so i guess the macbook is riced out, or is that what we'd expect of a macbook?

OMG My Melody in a swimsuit, that's just wrong! But I love Hello Kitty & Mimi in a bathtub. That's awesome. I agree that it could be improved, like that gigantic Coke sticker doesn't go with all the small colorful stickers, but overall I think it's cool. The best part is, you can always change a part of it without disturbing the rest.
Malia -
That's pretty awesome actually, wouldn't do it myself but it sure looks fun.
Another guy actually stickered up his ThinkPad Z60m notebook ($2,000) to make it look "cheap" and deter theft. Interesting concept, pic:
-
I love how you have everything from hello kitty, to dbz, to pokemon, to naruto, to completely random sticks on that thing.
I think you need some more stickers. Seriously. I still see too much white. This actually makes a mbp look acceptable because it no longer looks related to apple. If apple cut their prices in half, and I were to be able to bondo the apple logos out, and paint the whole thing over or sticker it to death so it no longer resembles an apple, I might consider getting one. Oh, and if it ran cooler, stopped spontaneously combusting, and weren't so underclocked too. But the sticker thing is a start. Nice work. Although I think I will stay with my Asus and Uniwill for now. -
Cool, I also like the naruto characters sticker. Where can I get those? I live in the USA, so i dont even know where to begin. Once my laptop gets shipped, i'll put in a couple/few stickers just to puta little bit of my personality in it.
I like yours also, but man there's too much stickers all at once. -
You need some Initial D and GTO and Bleach over there. Kurosaki Ichigo. Darn cool (he's in my avatar too ^_^)
-
Even though I own a mac, I hate being associated with mac owners. Mac zealots especially = GRR!
-
-
I have to second that unfortunately mac users usually know less than windows users because Macs 'just work' where with PCs you have to be a little computer literate (or completely ignorant) not to do a harakiri after first few weeks of using a PC.
Btw That laptop looks interesting. I'd say that it's a little too busy, but at least it's original -
I don't know... there are quite a few incredibly stupid windows users. Most things "just work" with windows. Almost everything is automated, all you have to do is click an install or run button, and everything goes. Definately not the same as certain other OS's.
-
haha those users are covered by the "completely ignorant" clause
-
Those users are covered by the 95% of the population clause. That seems a tad too high. OK, 96% of the population.
-
i wouldve just stuck with 1 theme.
like POKEMON!!
Pokemon is awesome.... -
Rofl, I was going to say "that poor poor laptop, it doesn't deserve that", but then I realized it was a mac, and it actually DOES deserve that.
-
-
loves it...
-
when the monitor is up, the stickers are upside down.
-
My vote goes:
Either give your laptop a custom paint job with a flat color, or use some sort of design that mirrors a horizonal axis so that it looks identical whether viewed upside down or upside up. -
I also hate it when people put stickers on thier notebook that when opened are upside down.
Just goes to show how much even they don't want thier own notebook to ever be seen being used. Are you ashamed of your own laptop? (no offense to just you) -
Never said I hate people who put sticks on upside down. It's a very common thing. A lot of stock logos are put on that way.
But the thing is, a lot of people who have "pretty" computers and macbooks use them more often as centerpieces than as a computer. And so the stickers are applied so that the laptop looks best when it is a centerpiece rather than when in use. Also, some people just throw stickers on a laptop without ever once considering that they would be upside down to anyone else looks at it. It comes natural to put them on while the laptop is closed, and to position the laptop oriented to face you, and it comes nature to put the sticker on right side up. So what ends up happening is your stickers are on upside down when the notebook is open. Just because people did what came naturally when applying the stickers rather than thinking about it first. -
I highly recommend painting either on your own or having a pro do it-I think you (and most everyone else) will enjoy it alot more. Certainly a cheap solution to customizing though. Colourware does dell and apple notebooks give them a call
-
Well... painting isn't always a good idea. First off, your warranty will almost always be violated. Second, in order to do the paint job right, your laptop will be out of commission for 1-3 months. Also, it can be expensive if you have someone else do it, and not everyone is a reliable painter. You don't want your laptop to chip or the paint to have drips/runs in it. And if you do it yourself there is also a fair chance of messing something up.
I painted my Uniwill after the warranty had expired, and I happen to be quite familiar with laptop and desktop hardware. So pulling the thing apart wasn't an issue for me. Painting was new to me- being 15 years old I've pretty much never used a rattle-can. But I managed just fine. No chipping, dripping, or runs. But I used a poor brand clear coat, and ended up having to sand through the entire clear coat to remove the effect the clearcoat had on the color coat. Through doing this, I ended up sanding through my color coat in numerous places. I would have re-done it, with a name-brand clear coat, but I wanted to use my laptop again. It still doesn't look bad at all, and it only cost me $10. Since I've got my Z96J now, I've been considering re-doing the Uniwill paint job. -
deciding which way is up when putting on stickers should be a no-brainer. just follow the orientation of the logo that's already on the center of the lid. even if you dont think about it, its just plain wrong to go against the logo's orientation. duh!!
-
Well maybe some people don't like the logo and think it is upside down, so they try to hide it by putting all those stickers on the "right" way.
Honestly I don't care. It's not my laptop. And it gives me a good laugh whenever I see a laptop like that. -
It looks fine to me but I would have placed the stickers in the same orientation as the Apple logo.
-
In about 2 months you're not going to be able to pick that thing up without getting sticker goo on your hands. It's going to get all over the place. What a mess!
Have fun peeling and cleaning
Please update your thread with pictures when this inevitable event happens. -
cleaning would be easy.. use wd40 to remove stubborn adhesive goo.

Oh, and I still prefer to do it myself. Nothing beats a $10 paint job. Unless you get artwork custom airbrushed on. But that costs more than what both of my laptops are worth combined. -

We dont start anything in advance, the process moves forward when the order is placed. We put a GUARANTEE on the paint for 2 Years against any kind of flaking or chipping. If by a rare chance it happens we will repaint it for free. I dont know who you are referring to that paints like that, i would imagine this would be the case when someone is trying to do it themselves and not done professionally.
The end result is you get what you pay for. I would always prefer to have it done by the pro's. Like most, if you are contemplating a paintjob you would want it to look like a brand new car right off the showroom floor. -
Indeed.

I hope to god you're female. I would also bet $$$$ that your house is as cluttered as your notebook.

He did a while ago. Might still be here somewhere.

In rice rockets, each sticker adds HP. In this case, stickers increase processor speed!

Sigh, black and white world denizens, celebrate!
Totally stickerized my macbook!
